Nintendo Switch game: Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is playable only on Nintendo Switch 2. If the physical or virtual game card is inserted into a Nintendo Switch console, you can play the Nintendo Switch version of the game, without any of the additional features exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
If you already own Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for Nintendo Switch, you can purchase the upgrade pack to play the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
Information about Torna - The Golden Country
The additional story, Torna - The Golden Country, is sold separately as part of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion pass.
A free software update for the physical version of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country will be released on July 30th, 2026, adding support for 4K / 60 fps in TV mode and 1080p / 60 fps in handheld mode when played on Nintendo Switch 2. Players who own Torna - The Golden Country as part of the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass will be able to play it in 4K / 60 fps in TV mode and 1080p / 60 fps in handheld mode by purchasing the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack.

Choose up to six Blades and head into the fray in this brand new mode. During missions, you’ll take direct control over your Blades, and you can switch between them at any time. Build up your special gauge to unleash almighty Special Arts that can help you secure victory!
New Rare Blade: MOMO
Battle alongside MOMO, a new Rare Blade available exclusively in the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. Swap between MOMO's two modes – Real Mode and Imaginary Mode – on the fly to change not only her appearance, but also her elemental affinity.
MOMO also has her own Blade quest “The Home of the Soul” that can be unlocked during your adventure.
Unlock new styles for Pyra and Mythra
Customise the look of Pyra and Mythra with new styles exclusive to this Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. You’ll see these new looks both during gameplay and in cutscenes.
These new styles can be unlocked through gameplay or by scanning the Pyra or Mythra amiibo(sold separately).
